Vancouver Animation School and Universidad Ibero Americana Puebla Partner Together to Launch First International Digital Entertainment Design Dual Credential Program
Joint Program Will Offer Students Exclusive Digital Entertainment Credentials in Canada and Mexico
VANCOUVER – July 23, 2015 - Vancouver Animation School, the leading Canadian-based worldwide educational institution offering entry level and advanced programs for the animation, visual effects and video game industries, announced today that it has come to an agreement with Universidad Ibero Americana de Puebla to deliver dual education programs for the creative industries in digital entertainment design.
“We are proud to be the first to offer this dual international credential program in digital entertainment design,” said Mario Pochat, animator and founder of Vancouver Animation School. “Not only does it reinforce our position as an international educational leader, but it also opens many doors for Mexican graduates to be able to be credentialed in two countries.”
Early conversations in 2014 between Pochat and University Ibero Americana Puebla leaders Alexis Vera, Luis Gabarron and Roberto Razo, touched on the strategic need to help Mexico produce graduates that provided economic development and job growth from a consumer position into a producer position.
From that starting point, both educational institutions shaped the strategic partnership for more than a year through monthly meetings. Along with educational models, the other focus was how to deliver the digital entertainment design program affordably to students in Mexico. By leveraging its award winning technology platform Edutisse, Vancouver Animation School will be able to keep the costs affordable for students while maintaining its strict accredited program.
“Our technology will enable us to deliver this program to students in the two nations,” Pochat said. “And without the amazing teams at VANAS and Ibero Americana Puebla leveraging the technology, this partnership would not be possible.”
Vancouver Animation School and University Ibero Americana Puebla will deliver a hybrid education using online and onsite models of delivery. Mexican students will receive a Canadian accredited education at University Ibero Americana Puebla, delivered in English, by Vancouver Animation School industry professionals who are currently working at major studios in key locations around the world. Students will graduate in Vancouver, Canada and will receive a dual credential recognized by both institutions and both countries.
Vancouver Animation School in less than four years has become one of the leading online animation and film schools in the world – reaching out to 17 different countries around the globe. The secret to its success has been the development of its cloud-based e-learning program which allows students to utilize the latest technology to accelerate their education in the fast-growing animation industry.
