Contests Policy

ELIGIBILITY
VANAS Contest (the “VANAS Contest”) is open only to those who sign up at the online VANAS Contest page and who are 19 as of the date of entry. The VANAS Contest is only open to legal residents of LATAM, Canada, USA, European countries or other countries where PayPal service is available and is void where prohibited by law. Employees of VANAS (the “Sponsor”) their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, suppliers and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible to participate in the VANAS Contest. The VANAS Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.
AGREEMENT TO RULES
By participating, you agree to be fully unconditionally bound by these Rules, and you represent and warrant that you meet the eligibility requirements set forth herein. In addition, you agree to accept the decisions of VANAS, as final and binding as it relates to the content. The VANAS Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.
CONTEST PERIODS
Each Contest entry period (each a “Contest Period”) shall start, and end as announced during VANAS programming and/or as indicated on http://www.vanas.ca (the “Contest Website”) after which time the Contest will be closed and no other entries shall be accepted.
HOW TO ENTER
a) There is no purchase necessary to enter a Contest. To enter, visit the Contest Website and complete and submit the applicable Contest entry form or enter as otherwise instructed. Entries must be received prior to the end of a Contest’s applicable Contest Period to be eligible for entry into that Contest.
b) Limit of one (1) entry per person per Contest Period, unless otherwise indicated. In the case of multiple entries, only the first eligible entry will be considered, and the remainder will be void.
c) All entries, including, if applicable, the written submission and/or photograph submitted in connection with the Contest entry (the “Work”) become the sole property of the Sponsors and will not be returned for any reason. Entries must be received prior to the indicated Contest Period entry deadline. Entries will be declared invalid if they are late, illegible, incomplete, damaged, irregular, mutilated, forged, garbled or mechanically or electronically reproduced. No communication or correspondence will be exchanged with entrants except with those selected as a potential Contest winner.
d) If Work has been submitted by an entrant in connection with the Contest, each entrant agrees that the Sponsors may post the Work on Sponsor owned or controlled websites, viewing galleries and/or social media platforms. Each entrant further represents and warrants that: (i) the Work does not contain any material that is libelous, defamatory, profane or obscene; (ii) the Work is original and all right, title, and interest (including copyright) therein and thereto is owned and/or controlled by the entrant to the full extent necessary to enable the Sponsors to use the Work as contemplated by these Contest Rules; and (iii) the Work does not infringe upon the intellectual property or other statutory or common law rights of any third party.
e) Entries received online shall be deemed to be submitted by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address, Facebook or Twitter account associated with the entry, as applicable. For the purposes of these Contest Rules, “authorized account holder” of an e-mail address, Facebook or Twitter account is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address, Facebook or Twitter account by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider, Facebook, Twitter or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses, Facebook or Twitter accounts for the domain or account associated with the submitted e-mail address, Facebook or Twitter account. Each selected entrant may be required to provide Corus with proof that the selected entrant is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address, Facebook or Twitter account associated with the winning entry.
PRIZES
a) Each Contest prize shall have an approximate retail value between one Canadian dollar (CDN $1.00) and twenty-five Canadian dollars (CDN $25.00)
Actual/appraised value may differ at time of prize award.
b) The specifics of the prize shall be solely determined by the Sponsor. No cash or another prize substitution permitted except at Sponsor's discretion. The prize is non-transferable. Any and all prize related expenses, including without limitation any and all federal, state, and/or local taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of the winner.
c) No substitution of prize or transfer/assignment of prize to others or request for the cash equivalent by winners is permitted.
d) Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for VANAS to use winner's name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
ODDS
The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
Winners of the VANAS Contest will be selected in a random drawing under the supervision of the Sponsor. Winners will be notified via email to the email address they entered the VANAS Contest with within five (5) days following the winner selection. VANAS shall have no liability for a winner's failure to receive notices due to winners' spam, junk e-mail or other security settings or for winners' provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. If the selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim the prize within 15 days from the time award notification was sent, or fails to timely return a completed and executed declaration and releases as required, prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected.
The receipt by the winner of the prize offered in this VANAS Contest is conditioned upon compliance with any and all federal and state laws and regulations. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY ANY WINNER (AT SPONSOR'S SOLE DISCRETION) WILL RESULT IN SUCH WINNER'S DISQUALIFICATION AS WINNER OF THE VANAS CONTEST, AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED.
RIGHTS GRANTED BY YOU
By entering this content you understand that VANAS, anyone acting on behalf of VANAS, or its respective licensees, successors and assigns will have the right, where permitted by law, without any further notice, review or consent to print, publish, broadcast, distribute, and use, worldwide in any media now known or hereafter in perpetuity and throughout the World, your entry, including, without limitation, the entry and winner's name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, image or statements about the VANAS Contest, and biographical information as news, publicity or information and for trade, advertising, public relations and promotional purposes without any further compensation.
TERMS
a) VANAS reserves the right, in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the VANAS Contest should (in its sole discretion) a virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, fraud or other causes beyond its control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the VANAS Contest. In such case, VANAS may select the recipients from all eligible entries received prior to and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by VANAS. VANAS reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the VANAS Contest or website or violates these Terms & Conditions.
b) VANAS has the right, in its sole discretion, to maintain the integrity of the VANAS Contest, to void votes for any reason, including, but not limited to; multiple entries from the same user from different IP addresses; multiple entries from the same computer in excess of that allowed by VANAS Contest rules; or the use of bots, macros or scripts or other technical means for entering.
c) Any attempt by an entrant to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the VANAS Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, VANAS reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.
d) By entering the VANAS Contest, you agree to receive email newsletters periodically from VANAS. You can opt-out of receiving this communication at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the newsletter.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
By entering you agree to release and hold harmless VANAS and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, from (i) such entrant's participation in the VANAS Contest and/or his/her acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize or any portion thereof, (ii) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunctioning of any computer, cable, network, hardware or software; (iii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions or telephone or Internet service; (iv) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Promotion; (v) electronic or human error which may occur in the administration of the Promotion or the processing of entries.
DISPUTES
a) THIS VANAS CONTEST IS GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF CANADA AND BRITISH COLUMBIA WITHOUT RESPECT TO CONFLICT OF LAW DOCTRINES. As a condition of participating in this VANAS Contest, participant agrees that any and all disputes which cannot be resolved between the parties and causes of action arising out of or connected with this VANAS Contest, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in British Columbia having jurisdiction.
b) Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances will participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorneys' fees, other than participant's actual out-of-pocket expenses (i.e. costs associated with entering this VANAS Contest), and participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
PRIVACY POLICY
a) By participating in the Contest, each entrant: (i) grants to the Sponsors the right to use his/her personal information provided when he/she enters the Contest and the Work (if applicable) (collectively the “Personal Information”) for the purpose of administering the Contest, including but not limited to contacting and announcing the winner(s) and coordinating the provision of the Contest prize; (ii) grants to the Sponsors the right to use his/her Personal Information for publicity and promotional purposes relating to the Contest in any and all media without further compensation unless prohibited by law; and (iii) acknowledges that the Sponsors may disclose his/her Personal Information to third-party agents and service providers of the Sponsors in connection with any of the activities listed in (i) and/or (ii) above.
b) VANAS will use the entrant’s Personal Information only for identified purposes, and protect the entrant’s Personal Information in a manner that is consistent with the VANAS Privacy Policy at: http://www.vanas.ca
